Weekend Theatre Workshops...

This is a series of workshops designed to stimulate, energize and inspire children through the medium of theatre. Children are natural explorers of the universe. As we acquaint them further with their bodies, their voices, their emotions, and their inner selves, we encourage them to reach out to the boundless world existing in each of their imaginations to make the world in which they live an even more beautiful and magical place. The themes include the environment, the epics, the elements, world cultures, history of the world, music, etc.

The Body, The Mind & The Voice
The first workshop in the series will introduce children to the potential of their own bodies and their own voices, and how much they can accomplish with that alone, through a series of exercises, games and songs. Poetry in Performance
This workshop provides an introduction to children's poetry by contemporary poets like Ben Zephaniah, Carol Anne Duffy, and pieces by Roald Dahl, Ogden Nash, bits from Alice in Wonderland, etc. and focuses on helping them write their own short poems based on specific themes. The objective is to help the children find innovative, fun ways of presenting the poems...working on rhythm, energy, melody, movement, dramatization.
